Anoka-Hennepin Community Education has partnered with Safeway Driving School to provide an ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITY for high school students to complete their classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction outside the traditional school day. Driver education classes are open to teens ages 15 and up. Classroom sessions prepare students for the Minnesota driver's permit test and becoming a responsible driver. Behind-the-wheel includes six hours of driving in three, two-hour sessions on actual city streets, highways and freeways. Instructors are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and complete a background check each year. Instructors have experience teaching teens and receive extensive training.
